He also swam on six medley relays teams that earned All-American honors during his four years at Alfred.

His greatest thrill as an AU student-athlete came in his senior year, when the Saxons turned in an unbeaten season and he earned All-American honors for his fourth straight year.

Klemann earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Alfred University in 1991 and, after serving two seasons as a graduate assistant coach at AU, received a master’s degree in community services administration in 1994. He earned a master’s degree in health services administration from the University of Washington in 2002 and is currently a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, serving as healthcare administrator at the Naval Operational Medicine Institute in Pensacola, FL.

Klemann and his wife, Kristin, live in Pensacola and have a son, Connor, and a daughter, Cora.
