Loren Eaton starred in basketball and track at Alfred University before graduating in 1963.

Eaton, who earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration at AU, lettered four years in basketball and track.

As a captain on the 1962-63 basketball team, he was among the rebounding leaders for Division III schools nationwide. At the time of his graduation, he was the school’s all-time career rebounding leader.

Eaton also enjoyed success in track. In his senior year he placed second in the broad jump in the New York State Track and Field Championships. He was a member of the undefeated track team of 1960-61 and the 1961-62 team that won the New York State meet.

He lists among his biggest thrills at AU a 1962 triple-overtime victory over Hamilton College, one of three undefeated basketball teams in the country at the time; defeating the University of Rochester during the 1962-63 basketball season; and being a member of the state track championship team.

Eaton, 58, is a native of Corning, NY. After graduating from Alfred, he went to Northeastern (MA) University, where he earned a master’s degree in business administration in 1969. In 1984, he completed the Professional Management Program at Harvard University.

He is president and founder of Eaton Associates, a human resources consulting firm in Lake Forest, IL. He and his wife Sandra (Buchanan) Eaton, (’63, nursing), live in Lake Forest, IL, and have two grown children and five grandchildren.
