Former Johnsonburg Area High School standout James (Jim) F. Eggler '67, played for Alex Yunevich from 1963-1967, serving as defensive captain his senior year. He was named First Team All-Independent College Athletic Conference his sophomore and junior years.
His brother Gary was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1989.
A chemistry student, Eggler was awarded the American Chemical Society College Student Award, the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Merit Medal and the Raymond O. Hitchcock Award for Undergraduate Research his senior year. He was also nominated for "Who's Who Among Students in American College and Universities."
Following his graduation from AU, he earned his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh in 1971, and did post-doctoral work at Columbia University in 1971-72.
A native of Ridgeway, PA, Eggler graduated from Johnsonburg Area High School where he participated in football, basketball and track & field.
He has been employed by Pfizer, Inc. in Groton, CT since 1972. He is currently principal research investigator working on human therapeutics for asthma.
