Alfred University Athletics

Welch starred in women’s swimming at Alfred from 1985-89. She earned All-American honors after placing eighth in the 50-meter freestyle at the 1989 NCCA Division III championships. Welch garnered honorable mention All-American honors by finishing 14^th in the 100-meter freestyle. She also won the 50-meter freestyle at the New York State College Women’s Athletic Association championships in 1989. Welch earned her honors as the only member of the AU women’s swimming.
